Drumstruck

DRUMSTRUCK
Drumstruck, a show of African singers, dancers and drummers, played Off-Broadway to sell-out audiences from 2004–2006. Each member in the audience had their own 3-foot djembe (drum), and played along with the cast. Inspired by an African drumming circle, the show opened in New York City to rave reviews. The show promoted the good ambassadorship of Africa with a portion of profits benefiting: Nkosi’s Haven for HIV mothers and children in South Africa; the Maiitsong Festival in Botswana; and the Masisukumeni Women’s Crisis Center in Kwalugendlane, South Africa.
